Why is it so dangerous to go back in to repair a bad lens implant after two cataract surgeries in the same eye?

It is not necessarily too dangerous, but having to do so indicates there has been some sort of problem with the previous procedures. This is unusual but not unknown, even among the very best eye surgeons. But it can mean it would be more challenging to be able to successfully implant a properly focusing IOL (lens implant) in the ideal place and fashion. The risk and benefits need to be carefully weighed before proceeding.
