How long does it take your eye to heal after cataract surgery?

The typical healing period for an uncomplicated cataract/IOL procedure is about 3 months. Most of the healing and improvement in vision, however, occurs in the first 2-3 days up to about the first 2 weeks. Since the natural human lens is made of different material than artificial intraocular lenses (IOLs), there is often a period of time necessary to adapt to the new, enhanced visual performance.
