How long does a cataract surgery procedure take?

A cataract/IOL or PreLex™ procedure typically takes about 15 minutes of the surgeon's time once he sits down. The time a patient spends in the OR is usually about 20-30 minutes including prep. Most patients should plan on spending about 2-3 hours total from arriving to leaving the clinic after the procedure is concluded.
