I am 21. My eyesight is so bad, -15.5 and -13. Is there any surgery suitable for me?

So many people tell me their vision is so bad they are "legally blind." Almost all of them have a glasses Rx less than ΒΌ of yours!

LASIK is definitely not the solution for you no matter how healthy your cornea may be. If you have otherwise healthy eyes and have been checked rigorously for retinal weaknesses, it is quite possible to use the Intraocular Collagen Lens (ICL) in your case. This is like an "implantable contact lens" that you cannot feel or see. Unlike in LASIK, the risks don't get worse the higher the degree of myopia (nearsightedness) you are trying to treat.

No surgical procedure is 100% risk-free, so be sure to have a thorough exam by somebody who actually performs this procedure. You should have ample opportunity to discuss the risks, benefits, and alternatives prior to making your decision on whether to proceed.
