Does LASIK work to correct vision changes due to age (reading vision)?

LASIK does not correct Presbyopia.

But LASIK can be used (as is often done with contact lenses) to "trick" the reading vision problem of middle age. This is an optical strategy called "Monovision." [Some people call this "blended vision."] Monovision involves under-correcting the non-dominant eye some so as to leave a little residual nearsightedness in only the one eye. The other eye is corrected fully for distance.

Any residual myopia (nearsightedness) means the default focal point of an eye is still up close - but without needing to accommodate: using the ciliary muscle to squeeze the soft, young natural lens into the proper shape for reading.
