The Woodhams Experience
Welcome to Woodhams Eye Clinic, Atlanta’s OLDEST vision surgery clinic (since 1982). Our commitment has always been to the newest and most advanced vision correction technology. As we like to tell our patients, “If you are not at least 20/20 after your WaveFront IntraLASE or other vision surgery, we haven’t done our job.” Precise technology, however, means nothing in the absence of dedication to the Personal Care and Empathy we bring to the whole vision surgery experience.
Whether you’re nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism, we invite you to come and discover how our pioneering team of doctors and staff can bring your world back into FOCUS. Our surgeons utilize today’s most advanced technology and surgical techniques, including the latest medications, diagnostic testing, laser treatments, and lens implant procedures. We offer comprehensive eye care services, including WaveFront IntraLASE, cataract removal and lens implantation, glaucoma management, treatment for diabetic disorders, and the latest in lens implants for presbyopia.
According to our most recent, three-month (stable) data for WaveFront IntraLASE, in over 400 myopic (nearsighted) patients, over 96% saw at least 20/20 at distance with binocular, uncorrected vision. 100% saw 20/32 or better. Almost 80% saw BETTER than 20/20! There were no infections, scars, or flap dehiscence and only three cases of flap “wrinkles” that required secondary smoothing. No patient eye in the ten-year history of LASIK or WaveFront IntraLASE at Woodhams Eye Clinic has ever “gone blind” or suffered permanent loss of vision more than three lines on an eye chart.
Refractive Lensectomy (PRELEX or PREsbyopic LEns Xchange) outcomes with the crystalens ® Restor®, or Rezoom®, lenses closely parallel those of the FDA study used for approval: Average binocular unaided post-op visual acuity is 20/25 with about 90% of patients able to read 6 point print or smaller without reading glasses. No patients (who have had lens implants in both eyes) wear glasses full time; 10% need glasses to supplement vision in the case of certain demanding near visual tasks. About 2 to 5% of patients with lens implants (not LASIK) report seeing halos around lights at night.
When it comes to bringing you the highest quality of clear vision - beyond contacts or glasses - Woodhams Eye Clinic is Atlanta's Preferred Choice. |
